Analgesic: Bergamot essential oil reduces the feeling of pain in the body. Actually, it stimulates secretion of certain hormones which lessen sensitivity of nerves to pain. Therefore, it is very helpful in case of headaches, sprains, muscle aches or any other symptoms or ailments which require a heavy dosage of analgesic pills.

Relaxant & Sedative: The flavonoids present in Bergamot oil are very good relaxants as well. They soothe nerves and reduce nervous tension, anxiety, and stress, all of which can help cure or treat ailments associated with stress such as sleeplessness, high blood pressure, insomnia, and depression. They can also stimulate the activity of certain hormones in the body, which induce feelings of relaxation and sedation, like dopamine and serotonin.

Cicatrisant means a property or an agent which helps scars and other marks on the skin to disappear. It also makes the distribution of pigments and melanin even and uniform, resulting in the fading away of marks and an even, attractive skin tone. This essential oil is commonly used to eliminate the unsightly effects of acne, which can leave noticeable scars and marks on the affected areas for many years.

Bergamot oil stimulates the metabolic system and gland secretions, thereby providing a feeling of warmth and resulting in additional secretion (perspiration or sweat) from the Eccrine glands (sweat glands) and sebaceous (sebum) glands, thus reducing body temperature. This can also reduce toxicity of the body through perspiration, and clean out the glands and pores of any foreign toxins that can result in a variety of skin conditions.

Antispasmodic: It relaxes nerves and muscles, thereby giving quick relief for cramps, convulsions, and painful muscle contractions.

Antiseptic & Vulnerary: The same disinfectant and antibiotic properties of bergamot oil make it a good antiseptic and vulnerary agent. The scent is dynamic, radiant, slightly tangy and incredibly uplifting. Often considered a tonic for oily and congested skin, I have found Blood Orange to be hydrating and balancing for all skin types.

Blood orange, a sweet orange, contains no furanocoumarins. As a result there is no reason to think it photosensitizing.

Aloe Vera helps hydrate and soothes irritation and removes pore clogging debris from skin’s surface.

It is used as a cooling agent, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, healing and cooling properties it is a very useful natural element to treat our skin. Aloe vera also contains a rich source of amino acids, vitamins A, C, F, B, niacin and traces of Vitamin B12.

Acne affects everyone at one point of their lives. Acne is a skin condition where the body produces more sebum (bodily oil) and the pore are clogged. Owing to this the pores get infected and bacteria start to multiply in these pores. Aloe vera's anti-bacterial properties reduce these acne and helps in preventing recurrences.

Dryness can again be due to a variety of factors. It can be due to winter or summer, it can occur when you are exposed to wind. It can also occur when there are some other factors involved. Dryness is mainly lack of moisture. Aloe vera is very hydrating and restores the moisture in the skin.

Witch hazel shrinks the skin, it reduces the sizes of the pores and, therefore, reduces the extent of clogging of those pores by dead skin cells, bacteria and sebum.

The astringent property of witch hazel can act deep enough at the capillaries feeding the follicle cells. Witch hazel causes the constriction of these blood vessels which means more oxygen and nutrient-rich blood are supplied to the follicle cells.

Since the clogging of the skin pores is the first step in the formation of acne lesions such as whiteheads, blackheads and pimples, witch hazel’s astringent action can reduce the formation of new lesions and shrink down those already present on the skin.

This astringent property is attributed to the tannins found in witch hazel.

Witch hazel contains catechol tannins that help constrict skin pores and push out the dirt clogging them.

Yet another benefit of this astringent property is that it keeps the skin dry by reducing sebum production.

Just like all our products, this hydrosol is all natural, organic, made with distilled water and contains no additives....no witch hazel or glycerin. You may add your own if you wish. For best results and lengthen the freshness of the hydrosol storing in the refrigerator is recommended.

How to Use:
Use as a toner with a cotton ball directly onto your skin after washing, but before any moisturizing.

****Bergamot & Blood Orange can increase the skin’s sensitivity to sunlight, so they should not be used along with other medications that increase sensitivity to sunlight. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight after applying this product to skin.
